a dream/flashback scene in a live audience show?
You know those sitcoms where they're acting out a scene in front of a live audience? Suddenly a character says, "Gee, I remember those days..." *cue cheesy dream music*.
If I'm amongst the live audience, do I then focus on a big screen showing this flashback?
And what if the story 'twists' where you think you're watching what's really happening, when it's actually a dream instead? Am I, as the live audience, privy to this information, thus spoiling the 'surprise'?

you know i've ALWAYS wondered the same thing. also, how do they cut between scenes? do they have lighted arrows for left and right side of the stage so the audience knows where to look for the next scene? and what do the actors do when their scene is over? do they quietely leave through a side door to prepare for the next scene? also, what if one actor is supposed to be in the scene directly after the one he was in? does he quickly run from one stage setting to another?
it would be amazing to go and be the audience someday, just to see how they do it.

Seriously, it would be awesome to be on the set of a show! You can then purposely laugh REALLY loud, then try and see if you can identify your laugh when the show gets on tv. =)
